Woodburning

Wood burning uses a hot metal tool to burn patterns into wood. I recently started playing around with the technique and created an owl and world map of the places I’ve been.

The Sketchbook Project

The Sketchbook Project is a collaborative community art project of 30,000 sketchbooks offered up by individuals spanning 130 countries and six continents.

How it works: artists who stumble across the Sketchbook Project’s website can request a blank book, and a blank book they shall receive. Their duty is to fill it with musings, everything from comics to portraits to text to collage. Once the book is filled, they ship the treasure back and it becomes part of the worldwide tour followed by a permanent collection at the Brooklyn Art Library. Below are some pages of my two sketchbooks themed “Things Found on Restaurant Napkins” and “Diagrams”.
